First, and most importantly, we start with only top-quality ingredients. Being passionate advocates for Irish artisan products, we insist on buying our ingredients as locally as possible. Fair enough, there are not too many vineyards in Ireland’s Ancient East, but Slane Cider Mills produce a delectable Cockagee Cider that we match with the classic flavour of sage.

 Furthermore, we are constantly sourcing ingredients close to home and are determined to buy as locally as supply will allow. Regardless of source, you can rest assured that everything that goes into our jellies is of the highest quality – hence the wonderful gourmet experience you enjoy every time you open one of our jars.

Another feature we simply refuse to compromise on is the all-natural status of our jellies. As a family, we try to avoid artificial ingredients, so we certainly would not serve these to anyone else; so rest assured…absolutely no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives will ever find their way into our recipes.

Finally, we pack each hand-made, small batch with a ton of flavour – no cheap fillers, only ingredients that add to the taste and experience of our jellies; nor will you find dairy or gluten and only negligible amounts of salt and fat.

Finally, we wanted our product to look great. The Chinese have a saying, ‘you eat first with your eyes, then your nose, then your mouth’.  Our eyes are, indeed, the first sense we use when deciding what to eat. So, whether you chose our exotic- looking pink peppercorns suspended in delicate, pink- hued Rosé Wine or the deep, rich,  mysterious look of our Port and Balsamic Vinegar Jelly, we guarantee it… you won’t be able to take your eyes off your Bit on the Side!

Within our range of Gourmet Savoury Jellies, we have three different lines for you to lust after:

A Boozy Bit on the Side...tapping into the delicious flavours of port, cider and Rosé thoughtfully paired with herbs such as sage, as well as balsamic vinegar and pink peppercorns.

The Tasty Bit on the Side...blending careful combinations of  lemons, capers, and basil.
